In 1987, 13 referring physicians @450 Sutter Medical Bld. & other clinical faculty associate professors in the S.F. Bay Area @ Dr. Howard Maibach request sent testimonals and written recommendations to make Ms. Rayner's expertise available under the Co-direction of Dr. Roy Grekin. Ms. Rayner spent the next 4 years as a volunteer.

In 1991, Rayner was given a permanent job position Clinical Assoc. Dermatology & became a monthly cosmetic/rehabilitation dermatologic skin care patient care provider to the Dermatologic Surgery Division in the Dermatology Dept (Voucher # PERC2085 & vendor # 0026849687) where she continued to share her specialized knowledge the dept's resident's & learning under the auspices of the attendings while assisting patients for the 8 years - Her well-documented experiences she recorded in clinic logs which later served as the basis for her textbook "Clinical Cosmetology" A Medical Approach To Esthetic Procedures, & eventually - became the basis for what developed into specialized training seminars and after 10 years the first distance educ. for CEU's for RN courses

1987-1999, Rayner helps one of her students explain to a patient how he can normalize his appearance after being taught how to personally custom blend the cover creams to match his own skin. During these years Rayner trained hundreds of skin care professionals - some who went on to open their own camouflage therapy clinics in cancer & burn centers.

Dr. Kaplon insisted upon accountability & excellence when it came to the care of his patients - after reading over Ms. Rayner's chapter on caring for post-burn injury patients (a writing effort that took her 9 months to complete) he rejected the content of the manuscript and made her repeat her efforts - loaning her books from his library and having her interview the nurses in the center, standing-in for burn surgeries & meeting with firefighters - the result was a chapter that speaks of the true horror & the agony suffered
